The windshield cracks from relatively insignificant debris. I have two already from small gravel. Both incidents occurred at about 55 MPH on an interstate highway.

MY WINDSHIELD BROKE WITH ONE TINY STONE CHIP AT THE BASE OF THE GLASS. IT FRACTURED VERTICALLY THROUGH THE DRIVER`S VIEWING AREA. MY INSURANCE PAID TO REPLACE IT WITH GENUINE FORD GLASS. ONE WEEK LATER IT WAS STRUCK WITH TWO MORE ROCKS AND NOW HAS FISHEYE CHIPS IN IT. ? IS THE GLASS NOT GOOD OR IS THE AERODYNAMICS OF MY TRUCK`S FRONTEND CAUSING ME TO HAVE SO MANY WINDSHIELD STRIKES. JUST CURIOUS.....

Within the first 500 miles I had my first chip, my insurance sealed the crack free of charge. The second chip was on the highway. This one started under the driver windshield wiper and cracked half way up threw the window. Not very pretty to look at.
