There's so many damn problems with this Ford. I'm really pissed at myself. I should have stayed with a GM product never to buy a Ford again as of now.

The electric vacuum pump located behind the drivers headlamp started making a terrible noise on morning start up. This is lasting for approx. 10 seconds until the pump provides enough vacuum pressure. Once the vehicle is warmed up, the pump does not engage again. I have also noticed that at times in the morning, the brake pedal is hard until the vacuum is sufficient.

This pump is going to seize soon. This is a dangerous issue because when the pump seizes, the pedal has no vacuum assist and feels like a stone when brakes are applied. This is definitely dangerous! There should be no reason that Ford would not issue a bulletin or a notice for this issue. I have researched this extensively, and there are many owners with the same complaint, yet Ford will not take charge until someone gets hurt or killed.

I contacted the dealership, and of course, it is not covered under their lousy warranty, and the cost at the dealership is a mere $588.47. Throwing the bullshit flag on that one! I did find one on Rockauto.com for $388.00. eBay as well for $378.00 plus shipping. The OEM part# is BL3Z-2A451-A. The pump sits right behind the drivers headlamp, and gets all the salt, grime, and dirt from the road slung all over it, and it starts to corrode.

There are a few YouTube videos that clearly show what happens to this poorly designed electric vacuum pump. It can be disassembled, but there is no in house fix that I'm aware of. I would highly recommend that if others have this issue, please complain to Ford, bitch, yell, scream, whatever it takes. I'm sick of spending my hard earned money on the replacement of a poorly designed component that you can't even find at an aftermarket auto parts store. I'm pissed.
