Bought new tires. Tire center had issues with the two piece lug nut systems that came installed from factory. They were swollen and had moisture in them. Had to have replacement lug nuts installed.

Took vehicle in for service for oil change and balance/rotation. Shop advised that lug nuts were swollen and had trouble removing them and they need to be replaced. Research has shown that this is a known issue with Ford and there has even been litigation filed against Ford regarding this issue, but I could not locate a recall campaign.

While traveling on the highway we saw looked out the rearview mirror and saw white/gray smoke coming up from between the truck bed and the cab of the truck. We exited the freeway. While exiting the white/gray smoke turned to black then flames shot up. We pulled over and got out as the flames continued to grow. We attempted to put out the fire but it grew very fast. The back glass exploded and the entire cab and front of the vehicle was engulfed. 911 was called. Firefighters arrived and put out the fire. The vehicle and contents were a total loss. The fire department reports states that the fire was caused by a mechanical failure in the engine compartment or under the passenger compartment causing flames to show from the back of the vehicle and causing heavy damage to the front of the vehicle and passenger compartment.

While my truck's brakes were being repaired, the mechanic discovered that the lug nuts on all of the wheels had swollen to a point that I would not have been able to remove them if I had to change a tire. The service consultant told me this is a common problem with this model of Ford F150 because the original design is flawed, and the nuts have been redesigned. I had to pay for the new set of lug nuts. I believe this is a safety problem that could leave a driver stranded with a flat tire or use some dangerous alternative method to remove swollen lug nuts causing a safety issue. I also think that Ford should have voluntarily replaced the lug nuts. Thank you for the opportunity to register this concern.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While the vehicle was parked in the carport, the contact noticed that the rear passenger side tire was flat. The contact called roadside assistance to the house and they determined that the lug nuts were severely rusted and four of them had to be broken in order to have the spare tire installed. The vehicle was driven to vicksburg Ford Lincoln (2431 N frontage rd, vicksburg, ms 39180), but the refused to repair the vehicle because the lug nuts were severely rusted. The vehicle had to driven back to the contact's residence and repaired by an independent mechanic. In addition, the contact heard a noise coming from the rear wheels while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that all four wheels and the rotors, brake pads, and ball joints needed to be replaced due to rust and corrosion. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

My trucks TPMS is faulty and not working as required. I have had the Ford dealership in frisco, tx look at it several times and they have not provided a repair. The system does not activate or "display" a trouble light until the pressure in a tire goes below 18psi. That is almost flat on a 1/2 ton pickup truck going down the road at 65mph. They tried removing the wheels and replacing them with another 2014 model F-150 and no difference. They just tell me that the system is working correctly. My understanding is that there are two different types of TPMS "direct" and "indirect". both are required to notify the driver of an unsafe condition with one or more of the vehicle tires. This was a requirement that was part of the tread act enacted by congress in 2000. The Ford dealership has been unsuccessful in repair this safety component in my truck. I reported to BBB auto industry as well but nobody seems to be able to force Ford to repair this defect and I am concerned for the safety of my family as well as others on the road driving as well. What can you do??

I had a flat tire and the lug wrench provided from the factory will not go onto the lug nuts. I was on the road side with no way to change the tire.I had to get a ride home to get my own tools and hammer a socket onto the lugnuts to remove them.looking online Ford is being sued over swollen lug nuts the defect being they are two pieces and they corrode and swell. The lug wrench supplied only strips the outer piece making the lugs nearly impossible to remove.I feel this is a very dangerous fault as tou can be stranded in an unsafe area for hours if you have a flat.

I took my 2014 F-150 in for a standard oil change and tire rotation only to be told at the end of the day that the lug nuts were swollen and that Ford could not take them off unless I purchased new lug nuts. Furthermore, the Ford technician advised not buying lug nuts from Ford as they will eventually fail again. Ford customer service will not take any action to assist in the manufacturing defect. This is a safety issue as a normal tire iron will not be able to get the current lug nuts off and could leave my family stranded without any options in the event of a flat tire.

When we had our tires rotated all 24 lug nuts had to be replaced because they were overly tight they were chrome covered lug nuts and during removal they were damaged. This is a common issue with the newer trucks. They expand and contract which make them impossible to remove without damaging. They cost 7.59 each and all 24 had to be replaced. Each time we have our tires rotated we will have to replace the lug nuts. Due to this issue. We spoke with other repair shops and this is a common issue.

My tire spec and pressure label is incorrect, cold psi is shown at 55 psi front and 60 psi rear and the TPMS shows low pressure if under 55 and 60. All local Ford service advisers say it should be 35psi. I have been complaining of vibration issues since I bought the truck and feel this has put myself and my family at risk not to mention the premature wear on my tires and suspension components.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for routine maintenance where it was determined that the lug nuts were prematurely cracked on all four wheels. The dealer (benna Ford roush superior, 3022 tower ave, superior, wi 54880, (715) 394-8669) inspected the lug nuts and indicated that they needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure to determine a recommended solution. The failure mileage was not available.

Own a 2014 F-150 since knew 63000 miles on it now put new tires on it at 50100 miles in February of 2017 a thousand miles into the new tires began to hear a howling nose from what seemed to be the front right side. The howling nose was mostly heard while in cold weather and in motion. Took it back to the tire guy who pulled everything for the inspection and found nothing and referred me back to Ford. Took it to Ford who informed me that this was unfortunately a somewhat common accurance on these F-150 the problem (iwe integrated wheel end) it seems a rubber boot of sorts doesn't contract or inflate as it should causing grinding of the gears in the wheel hub which could result in wheels falling off tilting or being disengaged from the hub causing what could be a great deal of harm. If the service agent hadn't told me that this wasn't a common problem I wouldn't be writing to you, if he hadn't told me that my vehicle was only covered under warranty up to 60K miles when I reported this to him at 59900 and drove the extra miles just to get to him when I could have gone to a Ford dealer closer and stayed under the 60K and been covered, still there seems to a problem here concerning this wheel part that could cause damage to people and property.

Factory rim has defective valve stem retainer hole. Rim could fail at any time during stress or high pressure leading to sudden air decompression. Valve stem retainer hole was mis-drilled during manufacturing. This defect could be present on many vehicles. This defect was found at the manufacturer recommended tire replacement interval.

When vehicle is in motion and the passenger seat is occupied with an adult passenger who is seated properly and wearing seatbelt the passenger airbag off light occasionally comes on and will stay on for different time frames sometimes minutes or an entire trip before turning itself back on. We have brought the issue to the attention of the dealership on two separate occasions and on both occasions we were told that they tested the system and that it is functioning properly. We have also had a recurring problem with the front driver side tire pressure sensor where the tire was visibly low, and when checked was over 15 lbs low sometimes 20 lbs but the low tire pressure warning never came on. This has happened on several different occasions with the same tire sensor and each time was brought to the attention of the dealership it was purchased through and each time we have been assured that the sensors are working properly. Yet I have had the rear tire on the passenger side be low 5 lbs and the tire pressure sensor informed me that it was low. The tire states 44lbs as the recommendation for maximum inflation, they are the proper tires for the vehicle, and 25 percent would be at least 11 lbs low is my understanding. Yet when I asked if there is a certain loss of pressure that we should be informed by we were told no that some tires might just sense it sooner than other but that they were all working properly. We just wanted to express our concerns as we hope that these systems will function properly if they are needed in an emergency situation.

As as I exiting I-95 onto an off ramp in a 2014 F-150 (going about 45mph at the time of breaking) I started to brake in order to slow to an appropriate speed to make a slight right curved turn. Within 1-2 seconds, my steering locked up, and the tires began to screech. I was unable to control my steering and the brakes did not seem to respond to the amount of pressure I was putting on the break pedal. While I did eventually stop, I would have definitely rear ended someone if they were in front of me. Thankfully I had an open lane. Once I was completely stopped, the car returned to normal operation and I was able to pull over and inspect my vehicle. I was unable to find anything that would signal an issue, so I drove it home and called the dealership. They told me there was nothing they could do if the system was not registering any errors and the truck was (currently) performing normal. Additionally, about 1 month prior, as I was accelerating and then began to brake due to a stop light change, the brake petal began to vibrate and the car made a 3 second grinding sound untill I let off the brake, and again performed normally thereafter.

We were on our way back from vacation in South Carolina doing the speed limit of 70 and all of a sudden I heard a loud bang, the front passenger side dropped down on the truck. The truck lost control and went into a guard rail, the air bags deployed, the rear end of the truck came around and the truck began to flip. Once the truck came to a stop they had to cut the roof off and windshield to get us out. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital and my son followed with the sheriff and our dog. There is no explaination to why the passenger side tire came off with only a few marks and fully intact. The mystery to everyone is why is there only half a rim"?" the rim was off the vehicle along with the tire being off the rim in the middle of the road. The sheriff looked along with other people to not find the other half the rim. The tow truck company looked to see if the half rim was there but cannot find anything. The truck at the moment is at bull dog towing in South Carolina (803)865-3800. The claim is being handled by hanover insuarance - [xxx] - 1-800-628-0250 ext. [xxx] - claim # - [xxx]. please look into this considering I have found that Ford has an issue with there 2014 Ford edge wheels busting in half and the vehicles wrecking. According to the artical your office is handling this investigation of the edge. I understand they are 2 different vehicles but still the same manufacturer & if there is a deffect I would like to find out. I have tons of pictures if needed please request.
