Any time that temps fall below freezing one or multiple doors may fail to re latch shut after opening. I am worried that if that is the case then if they do latch shut could they fail and the door re open mid drive anyways? Seems to me this is a very common ford issue starting back in 2015 but a recall has not been issued, only a customer service thing where they "fix" the issue with more people then not stating that the "fix" does not fix it at all
When closing the driver's side door, the door will not latch close. I had to drive the vehicle with the door unlatched or with me holding the door closed and driving with one hand.Three days ago, 3 out of the 4 doors would not open after unlocking the vehicle. This is the same issue and recall on 2017 Ford F-150 and I don't like the fact of my door flying open at random. This is unsafe and needs to be addressed!
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the front driver-€™s side and passenger-€™s side doors and the rear passenger-€™s side door failed to close as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired under an unknown recall. However, the failure reoccurred on the rear passenger-€™s side door a year later. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that he would be charged a diagnostic fee and to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.
While driving my truck making turn into our driveway passenger door opened with out being touched. Daughter was thrown side ways towards opening but was restrained by her seat belt. Since this time doors have opened Numerous times and at time will not Latch at all. This only happens on cold days. So the problem is in door and or door latches. Now to drive we have to ratchet strap doors shut. I have videos of the doors not latching. Dealer ships act as if they have never heard of this problem. Has never been inspected by police or shop or others. Internet indicates this is a problem others are facing. Ford seems not to care that my child almost fell out of a moving car. In acceptable. Seems like they would recall such an extreme hazard condition. No warning no remedy that is a for sure fix. Just misdirection and avoidance.
My door latch froze open during the recent hard freeze in Louisiana. The door would not latch closed. I had to drive home, holding the door closed with my hand. I previously brought my forward to the dealership because there was a door latch safety recall, but Ford would not fix it, saying I lived in a warm climate.
The truck was sitting in the driveway and out of nowhere the alarm went off. Go out to inspect and the vehicle is showing that the driver and left back door are not closed. The driver side door will not latch it opened up out of nowhere and will not latch. Apparently this issue is know with Ford trucks when it gets too cold. This is a safety issue because the door will just open while driving.

The contact also stated that the doors would open inadvertently while driving. The vehicle was taken to verner-cadby Ford Inc (1240 bloomfield ave, fairfield, NJ 07004) where a plastic gasket was inserted in all four doors to fix the issue however, the repairs failed to fix the failure. The contact called the same dealer and was informed that there was no fix to the problem the vehicle was experiencing. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer four times for the same failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.
The 10 speed transmission in this truck does not shift right. It shifts very hard sometimes not shifting at all. It shifts hard enough to cause whiplash. Also the doors when it is cold out do not latch causing the door to remain open. My child almost fell out of my vehicle luckily she had her seat belt

The contact stated that the same failure occurred with their 2017 Ford F-150. The contact backed the vehicle into the sunlight, waited fifteen minutes, and was able to latch and close the driver's door. The contact took the vehicle to nick nicholas Ford Inc (2901 fl-44, inverness, fl 34453, 352-726-1231) where it was determined that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 17V652000 (latches/locks/linkages), although his 2017 F-150 was included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the same information as the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 9,000.
Cpsc:2018 Ford F150 frozen door latch issue. In temperatures below freezing the drivers side door latch will not function properly. It either prevents the door from being opened or once opened it prevents the door from being closed.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 28,000.

The doors unlatched while the vehicle was being driven. The vehicle was taken to stevens Ford (717 bridgeport ave, milford, ct) who installed a lubricate to the doors; however, the failure continued.
