Upon starting the vehicle there was an extremely loud electrical static/popping sound coming from all speakers. Sound was extremely loud, in the hearing damage range - estimate over 100db. After a few seconds the sound stopped. I have seen reports online that this is happening to multiple customers driving late model Ford F150 with the B&O speaker system. If this had happened while driving it would be extremely startling and could lead to accidents. The sound is so loud it could cause hearing damage.

On multiple occassions the speaker system has had a deafening blast of static noise that actually made my ears hurt. luckily my daughter wasn't in the car on either occassion but the sound was so loud that I actually had ringing in my ears after I figured out how to make it stop. I told ford about it but they said there's no fix and they don't know when one will be coming out. I have dash cam video of both incidents that I uploaded to youtube: first incident https://youtu.be/rtBawsLdca0 2nd incident - short pops of static at :25 and 1:15 in the video https://youtu.be/rWSP5E-XXCM

Today I start my 2022 F150 Hybrid and I got a loud beep like something didn't work, and then the speaker started screaming at more than 100decibel. It was so loud I couldn't stay inside for more than 10s. I still feel sick after 30?min. I tried to stop / restart the car, the noise continues. I had to wait 30?min and when I re-started the noise stopped. I am VERY concerned about this problem regarding my young kid. If she was in the car at that time, she could have permanent erring loss. I went to my dealership and once again they said they need to see the problem do to anything. This unacceptable from Ford. Since that, I have ear protection near by... Started the truck and there was a loud pop followed by every speaker in the truck blasting an ear-splitting machine-gun like sound. The volume and audio power controls had no effect. Shutting down the truck and opening the door stopped it, but it immediately start again when the truck was started. After several restarts, I hit the F-150 forums and found that pulling fuse 28 from the passenger footwell would stop it so I could drive the truck home. The next day I put the fuse back in and the issue has not reoccurred. I took the truck into the dealer at the next appointment and they were not able to reproduce the issue or find any codes (they listened to music at various volumes and channels for 20 minutes trying to reproduce it, even though I told them I had driven 25 hours since then without it happening). This issue is well known on the Ford F-150 forums with reports of some dealers trying reprogramming or replacing modules, but no conclusive fix that I've heard of. I have a video of it occurring, but the upload won't take video.

2022 Ford F150, PowerBoost, Platinum, 9100 miles, Bang and Olufson 18 speaker stereo system. Got in the truck today and turned the truck on and instantly heard very loud, "electric crackling" noise. It took a few seconds to realize the noise was coming out of the speakers. I was not able to turn the noise off, with radio power button or by turning the truck off. I was perplexed, so I started a to record a video, (which I have). After another short period of time, 60 seconds? I realized the noise was only coming from the A Pillar tweeters and rear door speakers. I switched from SURROUND to STEREO and the noise finally turned off. My wife was afraid to ride home with me but we did with no issue after that (approximately 7 miles. I am reading on other Ford F150 website, this is a pretty common issue, that Ford has not been able to track down as of yet. Very scary. I have not been able to replicate, but I havent driven the truck again yet, to try and replicate. There were\are no warning lights or errors on the truck and I have all the latest updated software to my APIM and Sync.

I went out to my vehicle in the morning and when opening the door a loud pop came from the speakers and then static there after. The pop was so loud my ears rang for quite awhile. The problem some how was gone 15 minutes later. I have young children and my worry is this happens when they are in the vehicle.

Upon starting the truck an extremely loud deafening pop was heard through the speakers and then a very loud crackling/static noise. The stereo did not work after that. This has happened twice now on March 3, 2023 & March 8, 2023 and is so loud it makes your ears ring. I called the dealership & service rep stated they have not heard of this before. They could not get my truck in for at least a week or more due to back log of vehicles needing service in electrical service department. There was no warning lights sounds, this happens with no warning upon starting the truck.

The problem appears to be with the B&O Unleashed audio system, possibly the factory stereo amplifier in my new 2022 F-150 Platinum Powerboost. I was pulling up to a red light intersection, with the audio system off but connected via wireless Apple Carplay, when the audio system produced a deafening noise so loud that I thought I was involved in a major traffic crash. The noise startled me so badly I could have easily lost control of the vehicle. I was shaking for several minutes after the initial deafening noise. The loud noise was followed by an extremely loud crackling sound from the speakers. I tried turning the audio system on/off but it did not respond. The cracking noise continued and I was able to get off the roadway and turned off my vehicle. After I opened the driver's door with the vehicle off, the noise stopped. But as soon as I started my vehicle the cracking noise continued. I have made repeated requests for a Ford Dealership service appointment at multiple Dealerships, but the earliest appointment is weeks away. The vehicle seemed to operate normally prior to this incident. This issue has been reported by at least 50 members on the "f150gen14.com" forum. As of this posting, there does not appear to be a known reported issue by Ford, or a fix for the issue.

On 02/22/2023 at approximately 7:50pm I entered my vehicle. Started up normally, and pulled out from my parking spot with the stereo OFF. As I turned around I heard a deafening "Boom" followed by what sounded like hail striking my car all over. It scared the hell out of me, and it took a second for me to even process what was happening. I thought I had been hit by another vehicle or...I don't even know what. I was fortunately able to just pull back around in the parking lot, and turn off my vehicle. On restart this was not happing again. I can't emphasize enough how dangerous this could potentially be, if you're driving on the freeway just doing your thing, and all of a sudden you're under audio assault...man I was having PTSD flashbacks. I'm scared to get back in my truck in case it does it again, not to mention transporting my infant son. I can't even begin to describe how loud it is, and volume or stereo adjustment does nothing, all you can do is turn the vehicle off. If you're on the road and it goes off you think you've been in a car wreck. My ears were ringing for the next two days. This has happened once before but not nearly as bad, just a loud stereo pop while driving that resolved immediately after, in which I pulled over thinking I had struck an object while driving, but couldn't find anything so I put it out of my mind. Having had this happen again, I began to look into it and found that it's an ongoing issue that other individuals are reporting, all with the B&O unleashed sound system.

Vehicle equipped with B&O "Unleashed" stereo system experienced uncontrollable, high-volume deafening speaker volume that would only stop if the vehicle was turned off. I started my vehicle and heard an extremely loud pop and deafening "white noise" from all speakers in the truck cabin. Happened in both Run and Accessory modes. Noise started ~3 sec after start, would not stop until I turned off car and opened door (and then ~3 sec until noise stopped). Turning radio power and touchscreen off had no effect. Turning off all phones with Bluetooth connections had no effect. After waiting ~10 min with power off, the sound finally stopped. If I had been driving at the time, the sudden and extreme noise could have caused me to react in a way to lose control of the vehicle, as well as suffer hearing loss. If my child had been in the car, it would have frightened her and definitely injured her hearing. I believe that I saw a pop-up message regarding an over-air system update on the touchscreen the first time it started...I don't remember if it was about sending data to Ford or if an over-air update had just been performed. Had an issue about a month ago with a similar pop-up but that time there was no noise, just the touchscreen stayed dark for about 10 minutes.

All of the sudden and without any warning, an extremely loud bang followed by extremely loud buzzing and white noise sound comes from the stereo system. The bang sounded like a gun shot in my ear and the buzzing/white sound noise is louder than anything I've ever heard. It nearly caused me to run off the road when it first started and it took my breath away and caused my heart to beat rapidly. I had to immediately pull over and get out of the vehicle as the sound was unbearable. There was no way to turn it down or off. It eventually stopped a few minutes after the vehicle was turned off. I tried to restart it a number of times and the sound immediately started again. After the vehicle sat for a few hours, the vehicle started without issue. My ears rang for 4-5 days after this incident. Safety was put at risk by way of ear damage and nearly crashing the vehicle when it first happened. I also had to pull off on the side of the road to exit the vehicle. I have not taken the vehicle to a dealer yet but will do so. It has not been inspected by anyone. There are no warning lights, error messages, etc. This is the second time this has happened. The first time it stopped on its own after about 10 seconds.

We were parked after being out at a restaurant for dinner. Turned the vehicle on and a sonic boom explosion of noise from the radio/speakers followed by very loud static. I would estimate the dB level to be 150 plus. Left my ears ringing for hours followed by aching. I had my children in the back seat of the vehicle and it was very unsettling for them. Removed them from the car. Turned it off and locked the vehicle. Restarted and the same thing happened. Could not get it to stop Had a friend drive my children home and drove the car home (15 minutes) with the noise continuing the whole way home.

Speakers from the sound system produced a deafening static noise that could not be stopped unless vehicle was stopped and shut off. Potential for serious accident as the noise came on without warning and can not be stopped when driving down road. After vehicle sat off for 15 minutes the system came back as if nothing happened.

Twice now on my truck there has been a loud noise that comes from the vehicle from the speakers. On December 19th I got into the vehicle and there was very very loud noise that came from the speakers then lost all audio. On February 9th there was a very very loud horn like noise that came from the vehicle then a static noise then lost audio. Both these times the next day all was fine.

Upon entering our 22 F150 Platinum, closing the doors, and pushing the ignition button, a very loud explosion was heard followed by a loud crackling noise that continued around the entire top of our truck. The control panel then went completely black. This explosion was so loud that our ears were ringing for hours afterwards. If we had been driving the truck when this happened we could have had an accident. We tried to turn the radio down as this explosion came on full blast in all 18 speaks, but had no control. We had to leave the vehicle and wait. Once it stopped and we reentered the vehicle, it smelled like something was burning. There has to be something wrong with the B & O amplifier in these vehicles. I have read a number of other complaints, so I know we are not alone. One person drove it to the dealer and the service manager heard it and said it had to be an amplifier problem. Another person was told to pull fuse number 28 out to get it to stop. If I paid $80,000 for my truck, I should not have to deal with this. How can I get this fixed?

Driving down road with radio on( apple car play) there was an extremely loud sound from all my speakers that made me close my eyes in pain and almost swerve lanes. It sounded like all my speakers blew. The radio no longer worked and i had to wait until the next day for it to operate as normal. I am concerned now to have my baby in the vehicle and have this happen.

I was driving and all the sudden an insanely loud sharp BEEP noise started and would not stop. It was coming from the speakers. I could not get it to stop. It was so loud I have lost hearing in my left ear. I had to exit the truck and disconnect the battery. Others are having this issue and Ford has no recall.

While entering the highway, speakers produced a deafening static noise, no way to control or stop the noise. It was certainly well above the level for hearing damage concerns, but also made it nearly impossible to drive safely. System was completely unresponsive to any attempt to turn off/reset/etc. There were no indicators/etc, and it finally stopped itself randomly. The only way I can try to describe how extreme this problem is, is to say imagine someone firing a gun next to your ear while you attempt to drive. Had it happened only a few minutes later while merging into traffic, it very possibly could have caused an accident.

Description: Upon starting the vehicle there was an extremely loud "popping" sound through the speakers followed by a constant static/popping noise coming through the speakers at max volume. The sound is not responsive to any adjustments to the stereo volume and is persistent even with the volume set to "0" or "off". The only remedy was to turn the vehicle off, close the door and lock the vehicle. Even then, the issue continued upon startup until I disconnected to battery to reset the the system. This has happened 3 times in the past 4 months. Dozens of other Ford F-150 Raptor owners have reported the same issue but in every case, the dealer is unable/unwilling to find the issue. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" Stereo/Speakers. Yes. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The noise is extremely loud to the point where hearing damage could be caused within a very short period of time, especially for young children which I have. The sounds is also extremely startling and if this happened while driving, could prevent the driver from being able to safely operate the vehicle. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The problem was not reproduced at the dealer while they had the vehicle, but they are aware and were unable/unwilling to resolve the issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by the local Ford dealer but they were unable/unwilling to find the root issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear"
