just purchased car from original owner . I did not notice the clunk at first but did a few days latter. when the car is automatically downshifting there is a clunk in final stage 2-1 I took it to a local garage and they found a service report of a transmission planet spring in backwards makes the 2-1 clunk. not satisfied i took it to ford for a $75.00 check up. they tell me the A/T is fine but the problem is the differential cost to rebuild is $11-1300.00 I feel I'm not getting a straight answer. any one have a similar problem and if so what were your results?.
