CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Grand Cherokee hasn't seen the same complaint volume as the 2011, at least not yet.

It's worth noting both model years are part of a class-action lawsuit that focuses on a defective TIPM and a long wait for replacement parts.

The 2012 also received national attention after it failed a Swedish Magazine's "moose test". The test measures a vehicle's ability to swerve out of the way of an obstacle you wouldn't want to hit while driving down the road ... like a moose.

Just went out to lunch with a friend who said "What happened to your dash?". To my surprise my leather dash has completely separated across the entire front next to the windshield and has bubbled horribly. I love this ride and now I have to look at this horrible eyesore every time I drive. I called Jeep to see what they would do and guess what? They offered me the option to pay for all the repairs myself! Wow - such a thoughtful company. I drop $50K plus for a car with a beautiful interior that falls apart on its own. It's not wear and tear - it's a freaking dashboard that is never touched. Looks like I'll have to find a temporary fix with a car upholstery shop. Shame on you Jeep Chrysler.

Update from Jun 14, 2018: Well I decided to send an email to outgoing CEO Sergio and see if it would do any good. Much to my surprise I got a call from the executive complaint office and they agreed to cover the cost of a new dash. They contacted my local Jeep dealer and the dash has been ordered. Fingers crossed that there won't be any bad surprises.......

Grand Cherokee 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,000 miles

Metal frame of drivers seat pokes through upholstery. Feel frame at 3 points poking my lower back and spine.

VERY uncomfortable and after 5 minutes causing back pain. Constantly trying to change position, but nothing helps. Sometimes I'm just leaning forward not having my back touching the seat (its hard to drive then).

Bringing car in for warranty repair. I suspect more padding needs to be added but not sure if that will solve the issue.

Very disappointed with comfort and quality of seats. Looks like they cheaped out on the seats. Will consider this issue when buying another Jeep.
