CarComplaints.com Notes: As long as catastrophic engine failure at under 60,000 miles is the top owner complaint, it'll be pretty hard to recommend the 2012 Sorento.
My 2012 Sorento vehicle with 2.4 Engine has after 8,000 miles has always started with a 2-3 second rough engine noise until it appears that engine oil has been pumped to the valves and cylinders. After the oil reaches upward, the engine runs with little noise. After mentioning this possible problem to the KIA Tempe Arizona shop several times, I have been told by the Service Advisers that this is normal, and the engine needs to work it's way in. Early on after purchase, and after 10,000 miles, I was one of the many owners who complained loudly about the POOR gas mileage received, compared to KIA claimed advertising, and am now still awaiting the Pay-out that was offered to us, but still held up in court. WHEN DOES IT STOP?
