CarComplaints.com Seal Of This Might Hurt

CarComplaints.com Notes: The Saturn Aura was a mid-size car meant to replace the somewhat problematic L-Series. Unfortunately, the Aura brought its own problems: namely cheap brake parts that needed early replacement and a gear shifter that could say it’s in park while the transmission was still engaged.

Brake problems, including uneven wear and warped rotors that cause the car to wobble, are common complaints from 2007 owners. Did GM use metal for its rotors that can’t stand the heat? That’s what some say, and it’s hard to argue when reports show that rotors could start to warp as early as 500 miles off the dealer lot.

Meanwhile, a busted gear shifter cable lead to some unwanted rollaways. That’s because the shifter could say “Park” while the transmission was still in drive, reverse or neutral. A defect investigation into the issue was opened in 2011, eventually leading to a recall of 56,000 vehicles in 2014.

When I turn the car makes a knocking noise. In the winter it cries like a baby. People stare at me it's embarrassing. When I go to slow down it shakes and vibrates and some times it's hard to hold still, which is really dangerous. Other cars like mine got recalled for similar problems but not mine. I have a kid and I wanna feel safe.

Every time when I am turning I hear that sound or knock somewhere down, I know it's coming from steering . Never fixed it. What would be the best to do?

The wheel barely wants to turn left and makes a knocking noise. This is the THIRD time I have taken it to the dealership to fix. Every time they tell me fix it and it only lasts about six months before I have the same problem again. With all of the other problems I can see why GM stopped making Saturns. No more GM for me. Maybe I will give Ford a try.

This is actually the 2nd time I took my car in for the steering shaft issue. When I took it this time I was told I had to pay $50.00 for the deductible & Saturn would be responsible for the rest. I feel I should not have been charged any for this problem. I am sure it will happen again!

Believe it or not, they have finally redesigned the intermediate steering shaft for the Saturn Aura. Yep! That annoying noise that occurs when turning and sometimes driving over bumps is supposedly a thing of the past. On the 8th visit to my dealer for this problem, they said that the engineers have redesigned the part.

Lets see!

Saturn keeps lying to me and telling me that the problem is lubrication, but the problem still there. I don't think they know how to fix it and all they want me to do is be satisfied until the warranty runs out and then they don't care and it become my problem.
