Timing belt started to flap at start-up at 70,000 miles. Noise quickly went away... so I ignored it. At 100,000 miles the sound no longer went away. It cost $800 for full timing belt replacement. OK... that is right on schedule. However, what if the belt slipped off and ruined the engine. The mechanic indicated that adjusting tension is no more than one hour of work. Sounds like cheap insurance to me.
