Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Purchased 2001 Toyota Camry xle on 03-15-2003. I have been having problems with squeaking from the rear going over bumps. I called folsom lake Toyota for some advise, the gentleman said use a spray lubricant on all the joints and this should correct the problem. This did not work. On October 16, 2003 I went to folsom lake Toyota and spoke with a service rep regarding this problem. He brought up the car on his system, which it was disclosed to me the vehicle when traded to them had rear suspension squeaking, I also saw this on his computer for myself. I went in on Saturday Oct 18, 2003 for my appointment. After 2 1/2 hours the assistant service manager phil disclosed to me the vehicle had severe suspension problems. He would not put this on a work order for me to show what the problems where. He did indicate he would speak with the managers of the sales department on Monday October 20, 2003. I have not heard from him. I called the service department and was told he would be left a message. This vehicle was sold to me as a certified used vehicle, which doesn't seem to mean a damn thing. I would like this to be investigated due to the fact the car had this problem when they took it in and they put a temporary bandage on it until they could pawn it off. I would not have bought this car if it had been disclosed to me that the suspension had a problem. I want to be reimbursed all payments made, my down payment and to have Toyota financial paid off as if this transaction never took place. This is not the quality I expected out of Toyota. I will be taking this vehicle and filing a complaint with B.a.R.
