Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving downhill with the cruise control engaged, the vehicle accelerated more than intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the vehicle was performing normally. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 500 and the current mileage was 12,000. Updated 05/15/12 the consumer stated he noticed a problem with the cruise control while on a trip. He set the cruise control at 60 mph. As he traveled down a hill on a moderate grade, the vehicle quickly reached a speed of 71 mph. He disengaged the cruise control many times since and it would not control the speed of the vehicle on a down hill grade. Updated 05/23/12
