Car is an excellent, new product by Toyota. I am very pleased overall with it. But here is my complaint:
1) When driving on a sunny day, or at night on a well lit street, you see the ENTIRE reflection of the driver AC outlet---and also the front passenger AC outlet---both reflections are clearly shown on BOTH of the outside mirrors. This happens when the side windows are rolled up; the reflections disappear when the side windows are rolled down. What is happening is that the light enters the vehicle, hits the AC outlets, then the images of the outlets are reflected onto the side windows, & then again reflected from there to the outside mirrors. The result is that you see other cars approaching you from either the left or right sides---but superimposed over them is the reflection of the AC outlets. If Toyota had positioned the dashboard a few inches back, or a few inches up or down from where it is now located, then there would be no problem.
In addition, all of the buttons/switches light up in a blue color while driving at night; normally, this is a great idea for locating buttons easier in the dark; however, 4 of these buttons (blind spot monitor, traction control, lane departure, & dynamic radar) have their blue reflection also thrown onto the outside mirrors, resulting in an annoying view. My guess is that the buttons are coated with a phosphorescent chemical, which glows in darkness.
In my inexpertise opinion, these problems are solvable. Toyota can use anti-glare side windows, so as not to relect any images onto the outside mirrors; they can also,in most probability, come up with a chemical to put on the various interior buttons/switches that does not reflect, or reflect as much.
2) I suggest that, if you tint the rear windshield, then only have it at 40%; I originally had mine at 30%, & at night approaching vehicles in my inside rear mirror looked extremely distorted; I had the dealer redo it @ 40%, & it is much improved.
