Takata recall - after approx. 9 years of ownership I was notified that it is unsafe for me to have a passenger in the front seat of my car. I have been to the local dealer and was notified that replacement parts are not available. Is there any urgency to the resolution of this recall" what are my rights if someone does, in fact, get injured while riding with me"

"takata recall" : I received a recall notice in June 2015 for air bag. The notice states that I would be notified when remedy would be available. To this date I have not received any information from Toyota about any fix. I fell it has that Toyota has had more then reasonable time to obtain parts to fix this problem. Apparently safety is not important enough to Toyota. Can you help with this?

Takata recall - my family is military so our car is registered in our home of record but driven where we are stationed. My understanding, from various sources, is this problem can be exacerbated by climate (I.e. hot, humid areas) and a vehicles age. It just so happens my car is registered in the North where it is cooler but driven in the South where it is hot and humid. My car is also older. I have contacted Toyota about this concern but been told they will not make repairs based on where the car is driven only where it is registered. This action plan completely neglects military personnel and their families putting them at an unnecessary risk because of logistics. I hope you will require manufacturers to revise their action plan to allow dealers to make repairs based on where cars are driven/insured (it would be easy enough to provide proof of insurance) and not where they are registered. Additionally it should be noted that during my call to Toyota I was told by a representative that if I was that concerned for my safety a rental could be arranged though a local Toyota dealer but that dealer has yet to return my phone calls despite 4 attempts to reach them since November 6, 2015. A final call to the store manager on December 4, 2015 met with great resistance as I was told Toyota could not make that kind of promise and that the rentals are solely for the dealerships use.
