This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I owned a 2007 Acura Rdx. Almost one month ago, on Aug 29th, 2018, I was rear-ended on a freeway, while stopped due to traffic. The police report showed the at-fault driver was driving at about 50mph. The impact from this accident broke both the front driver and passenger seatbacks and headrests, where they were almost touching the back seats and we were laying down looking at the roof of the car when the car came to complete stop. I don't think this should have happened and seatbacks should be able to sustained the impact and support our bodies in an accident. The broken seatbacks would have pinned, severely crushed and injured back seats passengers. I'm currently looking for a replacement car, and have a high safety concern on the seats structure with any Acura model. I contacted Acura to find out that this is not a common issue, however I did not receive any response at all. I don't know what to do at this point.
