I started having issues with my car starting for months. In March I took it to a mechanic he said my ignition switch was going bad and I needed to replace it. So I ordered the part and then found out about the recall. A few weeks later my car wouldn't start and after trying for a bit the battery died. I towed it to a Dodge dealership told them a mechanic said I needed a new ignition switch they ran a full diagnostic and said everything was fine it was just the battery. I paid for a battery & diagnostic and went on my way. A few days later car wouldn't start at the store. I took my car to a different Dodge dealership told them the issues I was having & that it might be the ignition switch they ran a diagnostic said they think it was a relay switch so they replaced that. They said if it still had problems starting it would be the ignition switch going bad. A couple weeks later I'm at the gas station car won't start. I called the Dodge dealership I took it to the last time they told me to bring the car back so they can run another diagnostic. I called the corporate # explained what was happening told them I need a new ignition switch but no parts are being manufactured so I cant get it fixed and they are trying to tell me it's not the ignition switch that is the problem. I have been stranding countless times all I want is a working part for my car and they are all giving me the run around. My car has problems starting every couple of days sometime a couple times a day. They have no solutions and I need a working car.

For several months my vehicle has failed to start intially, I recieved a recall notice for the ignition switch late last year 2014. I was told after many phone calls to dealerships there would be an update and the parts were not in to complete the repair. I have been stranded several times due to this issue sometimes for 20 minutes at a time. This past Wednesday as I drove home from work on a very high speed expressway, my vehicle shut off completely. It restarted on it's own once and then all systems shut down, leaving me coasting in rush hour traffic. I was able to pull over and allow the vehicle to roll to a stop safely. I called my roadside service and was towed to the nearest dealership. The next day I was told by the dealer that it was not the "recall" issue that caused this but a short in a wire that caused the alternator to fail completely. I was told that I would be charged for the repair, and subsequently my warranty would cover the repair except my $200 deductible. Being that this is my only means of transportation I authorized it. The repair was done and my vehicle was returned to me on Friday Jul 17, 2015. Upon return the service tech noticed that my engine light was still on, and advised me to go get my battery checked as it had been drained. I did this and found the battery to be in "good" condition. Sunday Jul 19, 2015 on a quick trip to the store, I was greeted again with a "failure to start" issue. This left myself and my child in a stranded state until a friend could arrived to give me a jump. After paying to have my car repaired and promised the recall issue would not cause me to be stranded, I am very frustrated and fearful that my vehicle is too dangerous to drive. I do not have another vehicle to get to and from work. I need a resolution to this problem asap.

I went to visit my sister at hospital and used valet parking for my car. When valet driver went to retrive my car; it would not start. Hospital security jump started car and it started up. However, when I drove car home, turned car off and attempted to restart car; it would not start. Later in week, I called to see if recall part was in because I was told in may that it would be available in June 2015. Well, when I called in June, I was told it would be ready in August 2015. Chrysler/Dodge is giving consumers a line that is not true. I had been experiencing issues with P57 recall since last year (2014). When I started car; I noticed all electrical components would not be on. I would have to turn car off and restart car to ensure all electrical components was on. This is my main transportation and now I have to use my son's Honda to get to essential places. My car is not starting; it has no power. My car has about 74,300 miles. Just last week, I received yet another letter stating a recall on the 2008 Dodge Charger driver's airbag. I called recall center. This Dodge Charger owner, is very tired of waiting for recall parts to be available. We as Chrysler/Dodge consumers, need someone to speak on our behalfs about our issues/concerns/rights. Chrysler/Dodge should be held accountable, provide consumers with truthful information and timely repairs. Thanks for allowing me to voice my opinion. I thank everyone that is helping to get these recalls resolved as soon as possible.

There is a recall on the 2008 Dodge Charger ignition switch (NHTSA # 14V-567). Its status has been incomplete, parts are not available. Its been years since this part has been recalled and Chrysler has done nothing to remedy the situation. What constitutes a reasonable time to rectify the situation. What can I do? the recall page says to file a complaint and thats why I am writing to you. I would like this to be investigated. People shouldn't be made to drive around in a potential death trap while the manufacturers sit idle.
