We were traveling northbound on us 84 in our 2011 GMC Terrain SUV near tesuque pueblo when the driver's side front alloy wheel disintegrated, slamming our vehicle into the concrete barrier dividing the traffic. The tire was fine but the wheel spokes were all broken into pieces. The lose tire bounced over the barrier crossing two lanes of oncoming traffic. No one was injured, but it could have been disastrous for us and others. The tesuque tribal police asked us"to do something" so we are asking your Agency to "do something" before someone is seriously injured in the future. The tesuque tribal police station has the report (case [xxx]) at route 42, box 360-T, Santa Fe, nm 87506 (telephone 505-988-9119; fax 505-983-1883). Please investigate and warn about alloy wheels. A piece of the broken wheel is stamped "A751 GM, [xxx], thank you for your attention in this matter. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
