I will be driving my 2005 Yukon, and all of a sudden under dry conditions when I take off from a stop my car goes for a second, than everything stops, I will slap the gas pedal the engine is running but doesn't rev (sp) and the car doesn't move...I live on a main route, the speed limit is 55mph in front of my house, I make sure I give myself plenty of distance to go and when I pull out in front of traffic thinking I have plenty of time and than this happens...I am playing russian roulette with my family...there is no warning that this is going to happen...a light comes on the dash saying traction active....that is not a warning....my car does not go! I wonder how many people are dead because this has happened to them and couldn't tell the story on why they pulled out in front of some truck and the car just wouldn't go....GM needs to confess up to this problem...I know 3 other people personally that there car does this also...GM told them it was his front wheel sensors, that rust got between something in them up North where there is salt...he replaced them...and problem still occurs...so what is the problem? I have looked it up on the internet, and there is thousands of complaints...no one really has an answer to fix it...it is hit and miss.....I am sure it is a recall but GMC would have to spend millions of dollars to fix it....why does the rich guy always get the break.....I believe this should be a class action suit and it should definitely be looked into....we bail GM out, than they play death games with our loved ones.....if they could 100% tell me what was wrong with it, I would have it fixed, but they won't fess up.....come on GM....you know there is a problem.....this happens always, I drive around with the traction system disabled...I have to do this each time the car is off and back on. I push the disabled button and it seems not to happen...as long as I remember to do this, but it shouldn't be, it should be fixed whatever the problem is. Thank U

I recently had my vehicle in my service dept. For an on-going problem, when I would accelerate, the vehicle would lose power and not move after about 20 feet or so and a traction active message would appear on the display. This was a very serious safety concern as the vehicle would end up in the middle of the road with loss of power and cars behind me will almost re end my car. It is an intermittent happening 6 or more time daily, would happen when I would drive from a stop sign or red light. To regain power, you had to let off on the gas peddle and the drive would re-engage. We have been dealing with this for a while and it goes away when we turn off the stability control which it is a very serious safety feature knowing that my babies are in the truck with me. After doing a search there are a lot of people having my same problem, this is as safety hazard and is going to cause a fatality.
