Old cars, you can tell by the dash lights if your lights are turned on or off. If you don't have the dash lit up, that means the lights are not on.
Now on these new cars the dash lights up when you turn on the car regardless if external lights are on or not.
In my case the front very bright daytime running lights around the head light were on, but there were no tail lights on. You could not tell this was the situation from the inside of the car.
I got pulled over for not having tail lights, at night, and thinking that there was an electrical problem, the cop gave a ticket. While sitting I figured out the problem, but the cop returned and gave me a defective tail light tickets even after he was made aware that the light switch was in the wrong position.
Cost me ticket $150+ and now another additional cost of the Appeal.
This is unsafe, as you are driving around thinking lights are on but they are not. Especially if you are in the city with street lights you cannot tell because the DRL are so bright.
