I was driving and coming up to a stop sign, when I went to brake and had no brakes. The pedal went right to the floor and nothing happened. I hit the brakes and nothing occurred. I went through the stop sign and was hit by an oncoming car. The car was a total write off. I spent a week in hospital with a broken back.
Hyundai investigated and denied any claim as they only conducted a mechanical inspection and refused my call for a mechanical engineer to review the car.
Fortunately my insurance coverage was for a replacement vehicle.
I am still dealing with back issues due to this failure. The insurance company would not cover the cost of the mechanical engineer to investigate and the car has since been scrapped.
This occurred in Ontario Canada and I would be pleased to hear from any like situations.
