The contact's daughter owned a 2013 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at approximately 35 - 40 MPH, another vehicle ran a red light and crashed into the contact's daughter's rear driver's side door and tire, which caused her vehicle to spin into a 90-degree angle. None of the air bags deployed upon impact. The contact's daughter, her husband, and their thirteen-year-old daughter, who were passengers in the vehicle, later received medical treatment but did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

My daughter got hit by 2 cars and only the headrest popped opened but no airbags went off. A car hit the car behind her, she was a complete stop, the car that hit the car behind her then hit her on the passenger side (almost like a T-bone). She now has a lot of shoulder, neck and spine issues from getting slammed into the drivers door. If the side airbag would have gone off, she would not be in so much pain from getting hit from behind and 2 seconds later got hit from the side. I see lots of issues on the coupe but not on the sedan models & I feel that others should know this too. Also, Colorado police forgot to put passenger in her car on the report and they refuse to fix it. Her passenger took the hit on passenger door and they had to pull the other car out of my daughters car. We are very concerned on the frame damage, but the collision repair said "don't worry about it, it will be find if hit again, her airbags did not go off either. The damage was just over $11K and insurance valued car at $17K with no proof on how they came up with not totaling the car. She is paranoid to drive it now, cuz we don't know if the airbags will go off. Collision company refused to check the sensors, stating "we should have had them checked before we bought the car". what? so I am not sure how they can say if safe to pick the car up and okay to drive. Also, state fam was not very helpful at all.

The area in my dashboard where my airbag is is starting to split. I have contacted Hyundai and let them know as I feel that this is a safety issue. It is coming open and I am concerned that the airbag will either deploy or not operate correctly if needed. I have seen where this is a common occurance is this vehicle and I feel that it wanrrants a recall.

I was backing out of my garage. My son had his car parked behind me. I saw that I was going to have to pull up to get around the parked car. I put my foot on the brake, I then put the car in drive. Took my foot off the gas and it took off at rocket speed. I wasn't completely out of my garage. The car was going so fast and I couldn't stop it. I was 6 ft from the brick wall. I was going so fast that I went through the brick wall and it didn't even slow down. It kept going took out a chain link fence. Then came to a stop and died. What stopped me was all the brick and fence that was under the car. If it had not stopped it would have killed me. This happened at my home. There was no police report.

On August 4,2017, I rear-ended another a Toyota fj cruiser at about 45 mph, because they came to a sudden stop on a major hwy. However, the airbags never deployed! this is unlike the time, a year or so ago, when I was rear-ended by a mistsubishi outlander, while at a red light on a city street. That time the head rest deployed and I had minor damage to the bumper. I'm disappointed. For a high safety rating, I expected more from Genesis. Very scary when your life is on the line.

While traveling at the posted highway speed I had the cruise control engaged when suddenly the car lurched, then surged. I started/tried to use the brakes to slow the car. That didn't work. I tried to disengage the cruise control...that didn't work....car kept speeding up till I hit a massive rv at 90mph. I was knocked unconscious, taken by ambulance to a trauma center, and later learned that none of the many airbags that this car had did not deploy. I am truly blessed having survived this accident. There needs to be better vehicles with better working systems to protect us. I will not rent another Hyundai ever again!!

Travel on county road lost control of the car hit the brakes and car would not stop crashed into a fence and had damage on front and both side of the car and the air bags did not deploy. The car was considered a total lost by the insurance company but I would like an investigation about the airbags.

While traveling at 65mph the car was cut off and the ABS did not work, the rear fishtailed and lost control, slamming into a guardrail at 65mph, the right passenger side front and back were severely impacted, and no air bags were deployed at time of crash. Seat belts did not hold and passengers were hurt. Air bag, failure and seatbelt failure are the major problems with this vehicle.

I had 2 accidents on 7/7/2013. One low speed rear end collision with a mini-van. The other was a high speed rear end collision with large rv. Both times I had the cruise control engaged, and could not stop the vehicle using the car's brake pedal system. I was eventually taken to an er, then admitted to an icu ward. I sustained a concussion, bruises, and abrasions. Most of what happened in the high speed collision are of temporary moments of memories due to the concussion and loss of consciousness. I am quite upset to have gone through these accidents with a new 2013 Hyundai Genesis that was rented from enterprise rental car from logan airport in boston mass. There was no airbag deployment in either accident. Car was towed away and do not currently know the VIN of the vehicle that I am reporting.
