The contact owns a 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe. While driving approximately 65 mph, the hood independently released in an open position. The contact cautiously pulled over to the side of the road and closed the hood tightly. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on four separate occasions where the hood latch was adjusted each time. The manufacturer was made aware of the defect. The failure mileage was unknown.
The hood on the 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe does not fit properly allowing the hood to bounce at normal driving speeds. I have advised Hyundai usa and they have advised me that the fit of the hood is to specification. My concern with the vehicle is if the hood does not fit properly, it may not latch properly. They have stated, but will not put in writing, the hood will not unlatch.
