We have tried to get our local dealership to replace the seatbelt in reference to Hyundai major safety recall 283. They have not provided a remedy to my families daily driver. We scheduled an appointment to make the repairs on 12/18. My wife took the vehicle there just for them to tell us they did not have the parts to make repairs. She was told this on the phone as well when she called on 1/7, 1/15, and 1/19. We also contacted Hyundai directly and was told our case would be expedited. Our concern has not been important to every entity that we have contacted due to it not being there families at risk. Other families have been able to get rental vehicles provided by the dealership but my family has not been that fortunate. Thanks in advance and any help is appreciated.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed or while the vehicle was parked, the front driver's and the rear passengers' seat belts unexpectedly unlatched. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts); however, parts were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to a dealer by the contact's spouse, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact later called the dealer and was advised that the parts were not available and that the parts were on a nationwide backorder. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

I am writing to report a serious safety concern regarding my vehicle-??s front passenger seat belt, which unexpectedly came unlatched. Although Hyundai replaced that one seatbelt, I remain very concerned that other seatbelts in the vehicle could have the same defect. I was informed that the warranty has been extended in case this issue happens again, allowing for additional replacements. However, this approach does not fully address the risk. If a seatbelt were to unlatch during an accident, it could lead to severe injury or death. This is a major safety hazard affecting all seatbelts in the vehicle.
My car was making a rattling noise from the engine and would stutter at a stop and sometimes kick into park or turn off. No warning lights would turn on, on the dash board warning i was low on oil. The back passenger brake light warning light turned on. The Third seat middle seatbelt does not lock. I took into Hyundai to get it serviced and I had to pay for my car to be put on a diagnostic test. I was told I was low on oil. I never had any warning lights go on, on my Dashboard. My motor could have blown out. The only warning light I got was my back light is out. I never had any warning signal go on my dashboard saying my seatbelt doesn-??t lock. I had it serviced 2025 and again the same back tail light is out. I have kept my vehicle maintenance up to date. I am going to have to schedule another appointment for my back tail light ( same side) to get repaired
My wife drives the vehicle regularly and mentioned that the seatbelt unlatched multiple times without force to the buckle or latching mechanism. The seatbelt problem was occuring before her vehicle accident and continues to happen afterwards. The seatbelt came completely undone while driving at highway speeds and seperately during stop and go traffic. You may inspect it as needed as long as the inspection does not impeed usage for traveling to work Monday - Friday 8-5 please. The vehicle is used as a primary means of transportation. The driver's safety is continously put at risk due to seatbelt failure and may cause bodily injury, serious bodily injury, or death if not corrected. The vehicle was dropped off at Hyundai Northwest in San Antonio for a seperate issue and the seatbelt failure was mentioned and I was told there is no active recall for it to be fixed. They did not investigate further. The vehicle has been to classic collision repair on Fredericksburg Rd in San Antonio for a rear end collision (not at fault). No warning lamps or messages noted.
Multiple times after the kids buckle in, their seatbelts will become unlatched while driving down the road. This occurs in the middle row and happens with everyone from the [XXX] to the [XXX]. In some instances it has happened when an adult is sitting in the second row as well. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My middle row seat belts randomly become disengaged. Even after ensuring they are pushed in all the way. This has happened multiple times and is concerning as I drive my kids around a lot. It has had 10+ times but I took it to the dealer and they said at the time they couldn't replicate it so nothing could be done but it keeps happening! Randomly and without warning.
I am the second owner of this vehicle and have only been driving it for two weeks. The second row driver-??s side seatbelt has disengaged on multiple occasions (at least 5) while the car is in motion. The passenger seatbelt has disengaged twice and the driver-??s seatbelt has disengaged once. Obviously this is a serious issue that could result in major injuries if an accident ever occurred. I will be taking the vehicle in for service as soon as possible.
Drivers seatbelt randomly comes unclicked when driving. This also happens even after making sure the seatbelt is secure. Also have issues with passengers side second row with seatbelt not clicking into place after several attempts.
The seatbelts in the Driver, Front passenger and second row passenger come unlatched by themselves, unprompted and at times, do not want to buckle until multiple times of forces them in. The driver seat with the lower seat adjustment will move unexpectedly without prompting. This is not the first time this has happened. It has occurred multiple times this past year, starting around 36,000 miles.
Sometimes seatbelts come unbuckled in the front and back seats. Currently front passenger seat will not buckle has happened several times. Seems to not always latch all the way. Have had a seatbelt, unbuckled while driving a few different times. Huge safety issue.
2nd row captain seats come unbuckled on there own after correctly buckling/ latching them. Has done it multiple times while driving down the road on my adult children and my younger children
Passenger rear seat (middle row) belt comes unlatched on its own while the vehicle is being operated. The latch is currently securing a [XXX] boy (approx. [XXX]) for most of the time the seat belt is latched. The seat belt in most cases remains latched however it is slowly becoming more progressive. The left rear passenger seat (middle row) is currently latched securing a car seat with no issues present and no issues present at third row seat belts. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Driver's seatbelt is unlatching while driving spontaneously. It is also having issues latching and staying latched. The dealership was not any assistance, as they said it was likely maybe dirt in the seatbelt (there isn't any debris). This is a huge safety concern, as we have a young child and are now concerned about the rest of the seatbelts doing the same thing.
The seat belt on second row of Palisade Hyundai 2022 does not latch all the time, and it is a safety issue. Keeps happening on and off since I bought the vehicle. Dealer doesn-??t want to fix it, as when they test it 2 it works.
The passenger side 2nd row seatbelt will randomly become unlatched while driving the vehicle. This happens despite checking to be sure it has clicked/locked into place at the start of the drive, and has happened repeatedly at random times. This began happening in January 2025 and has occured about 6 times since. I just scheduled a Hyundai service repair for 02/28/25.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that the driver's side and passenger-??s side front seat belts unlatched unintendedly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
