"#1 - 09 ENG: GENERAL ENGINE
C/S: VEHICLE THREE TIMES HAS STOPPED USING GAS ENGINE ENTIRELY AND WOULD ONLY RUN ON ELECTRIC. WHEN THIS HAPPENS VEHICLES GAS PEDAL STOPS RESPONDING UNLESS COMPLETELY FLOORED. AS SOON AS TAKING FOOT OFF GAS PEDAL STOPS RESPONDING AGAIN.
Caused by
UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERN ON MULTIPLE TEST DRIVES. NO DTC'S IN
SYSTEM, NO CONCERNS FOUND. SERVICE MANAGER ALSO TEST
DROVE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES, UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERNS AT ANY TIME. CUSTOMER TO TAKE VEHICLE.

I HAVE NOTICED IF IT STARTS AGAIN TO JUST PULL OVER, TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART,
THE BAD THING IS IF IT STARTS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, WILL I BE REARENDED???
Gas pedal stops working, warning bells go off, speed drops
03/18/2026: This is the 2nd time the gas pedal became useless. Warning bells went off and it would go about 35 mph on the electric motor. I made another appointment with the dealership. when I drove it into service, it had been running alright, so they cancelled the appointment.

2/10/2026: Coming up the hill out of Durango, CO headed to Farmington, NM. Had the cruise control at 53 mps. When the speed limit increased, I tried to accelerate. Warning bells started and the gas pedal went completely useless!!
Eventually, after playing with everything I could think of, the bells stopped and the pedal started working. I took it to the dealer and they could find nothing wrong.
This is the first of three incidents!!
