clutch problem
Clutch has been "slipping for about 2 months. Being a woman and not know much about cars, I did not know what this was at first and did not think anything about this because my car is in great condition. I have had this car since December of 2009 and have 36,000 miles. It wasn't until I almost got into an accident that I realized something was wrong and took it to be fixed. I do not "ride the clutch" or drive crazy.
I will NEVER buy another Hyundai again and advise as many people as I can to avoid purchasing a Hyundai. When I bought this car, I though I would always buy a Hyundai. Hyundai-you changed my mind!
Update from Feb 11, 2018: Clutch went again tonight when driving in the rain. Car has 56,000 miles. I got in the car when leaving a store,and I noticed when I turned the car on an pushed the clutch to the floor that something was wrong. It just felt too easy pushing the clutch to the floor, sort of fast an easy when my foot just touched the clutch. I drove for about five min and then I when I changed gears, I have to do this with significant force, until it got stuck in second. I finally got it in neutral and a police officer pushed my car over to the side of the road. It stayed stuck in neutral. Of course, I need to tow it and get another clutch, as this is not covered under warranty. Two clutches in 10 years. Ridiculous!

The clutch started going out in January. It has progressively gotten worse. It is March and I am going to have to either get it fixed or trade it in. My mechanics really wish I have the money to get it fixed. I have gone to the same mechanics for 11 years and they are more like trusted friends. They told me that the clutch is a bad design. I could get it fixed, but in 20,000 to 30,000 miles, I will have to do this all over again.

Purchase '08 Hyundai Tiburon SE V6 in May '11 with 13,000 miles. Drove up to NYC and car has just over 19,000 miles when clutch was slipping and all worn out. Took to Hyundai dealership and they said clutch is wear and tear item not covered under Hyundai's Warranty. To make matters worst, they said clutch's longevity depends on driver.
I had driven a Honda Civic for 6 years and put over 60,000 miles on (110,000 miles when I sold it) and never had a clutch issue.
Called Hyundai Corporate Office and they said no recall has been issued and cannot help me. Hyundai Dealership is charging me $1,300 to replace with a new clutch. They say clutch is completely worn. I have asked to keep all parts.
It seems Hyundai isn't taking responsibility for a manufacturer defect. Will never purchase a Hyundai ever again.
