I had a 2013 Hyundai Veloster that started doing what my brand new Veloster is now doing... loss of power, no power, rpms racing but car was not moving. I won the California lemon law for my 2013, and I thought the issue was fixed by now - but apparently it's not because my 2017 is now doing the same thing... I love Hyundais and I am so sad over this.

This vehicle has a Dual Clutch Transmission that has known issues that Hyundai knows about. Hyundai already issued a recall in 2016 for the Hyundai Tuscon with the same transmission. My vehicle is a 2017 Hyundai Veloster. The problem is intermittent and happens mostly in hot weather. The issue is that when you accelerate with the gas pedal, the transmission won't engage, the engine revs, but no movement. This is a very scary event when it happens, especially when you roll out into the street and are stuck.

I talked to a Hyundai Service Center and I was informed that they have to duplicate the problem before they can do anything, this will be especially difficult to do since it is an intermittent problem. I guess I'll have to wait until Summer to bring it in. In the meantime I drive a Dangerous car.

These transmissions in the Velosters have always had a problem. It is an intermittent problem and you never know when it's going to happen. Hyundai says if it's not doing it, then we can't diagnose, or fix it. They know the problem is with the clutch packs. They don't want to help out their customers is the vibe I have always gotten.

This is very dangerous, you pull out into traffic and the vehicle won't move. The engine revs but the transmission won't engage. How can a Vehicle Manufacturer get away with no repairing this problem when it's a real danger? This about the seventh time this has happened to me in a year and a half. This is the same Dual Clutch Transmission that they did a recall on in their large SUV's. The Veloster doesn't sell as well, so they think they can ignore it. With these constant reports, I know that I will have a strong case to bring to Court if it causes an accident.

When I start the car it makes a funny noise then shutting the car off it makes a very bad noise, And fails to shut off right when the car is shut down the rattles in doing so, I took it to the hyundai dealer in Wichita Ks. They said it was good to go but it was not the noise is still there what do I do at this point

Veloster Turbo 2.0t

I owned a 2017 Velster Turbo and loved it for the first year or so then when I would try to accelerate the car would go to about 5500 RPM but would not accelerate. This would happen intermediately. I took it to the dealer several times and they found nothing. It happen one evening on the way home so I went straight to the dealer and a tech drove it and witnessed the problem. I ended up taking it back 9 or 10 times over the course of 2 months. The factory engineer came in and drove it for 10 minutes and said nothing was wrong. The next day it acted up again and the tech witnessed the problem.

I called consumer affairs for Hyundai at first the girl offered a buy back and turned it over to a specialist. they then replaced the turbo and numerous other parts but it kept happening and the dealer witnessed the problem. Hyundai consumer affairs said the engineer had determined there was not a problem and from that point no one from Hyundai would take my calls, answer e mails or return my calls. The dealer witnessed the problem a couple times after this and Hyundai would not let them work on the car or replace anymore parts. Tyler at the dealer repeatedly asked for someone from Hyundai to step up and help and no one would. I was afraid to drive the car since I had several near misses with accidents, a couple with semi trucks. So I sold the car at a sizable loss but I just could not drive it any longer.

SO DON'T BUY A BLACK 2017 VELOSTER TURBO IT MIGHT BE THIS ONE!!!!

DON'T BUY HYUNDAI, THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CARS.
