Hyundai claimed this issue had never happened to an I20 before, so was unlikely to be the problem. Even though after much internet research, I found that all 8 modes of Hyundai from 2009 had the exact same fault without recall! It was not recalled because the brakes still worked! I was lucky enough to have a kind gentleman point out my brake failure to me on the side of the road, luckily no rear end smashes occurred! or police fines!
Turns out I was right and Hyundai honored the warranty, but were not happy about it. Apparently I was the lucky person to be the first with an I20 to report this fault.
