The contact owns a 2006 Jaguar S-type. While the vehicle was parked the contact attempted to switch the gear shift out of park into reverse and the gear shift was stuck in park. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact there was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 05V503000 ( power train:automatic transmission:gear position indication (prndl)) but the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 55,198.
