Last summer our 2013 Jeep Compass Latitude with CVT Transmission started overheating. It's a very dangerous situation, you lose power while on the highway, and must coast to the shoulder. Then you must sit for at least 20 minutes for it to cool down before you can drive again. It happens when the outside temperature is high. But when you take it to the dealer, it shows no error codes. This has happened more than 20 times.
We finally took a video of it and took it to a different dealer, and they acknowledged this was something they had seen before and replaced the transmission under warranty. That was late summer last year. This May, when things heated up again, the issue came back. Same exact issue and symptoms, and still no codes on the computer. The dealer now refuses to help. We have taken it to a 3rd party shop and they also see no codes and the fluid looks fine and is full. Based on what I see from googling, we need to get a class action lawsuit going as this seems very common for this car. Right now in this heat this happens pretty much every single day.
