My window would not roll down. When I took it in to have repaired I was informed it was the Window Regulator on my drivers side door. Shortly thereafter my passenger door regulator went out. Both repairs cost $500 each. I asked if there were any issues with these windows as it seemed odd that both would break. I asked if there was a recall, and informed there was no recall.
Now 8 months later, my back door window regulator broke. When I pressed about this issue, once again told no recall. I decided to do some research and found out that a KIA Service Bulletin came out in June 2020 about 2017 Kia Sportages having a fault drum in the regulator, and they suggested doing preventative maintenance on it. To replace the drum is about a $40 part, versus letting it break the regulator which costs $500.00 to repair. This could have been covered under the warranty and they never informed me of this issue.
They are totally taking advantage of consumers when they know they could fix it for less rather than waiting for it to break. Now I find out there is a class action lawsuit about this $40 part that they could have fixed. I will never buy KIA again.
