The contact owns a 2010 Land Rover LR4. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle, an abnormal fuel odor permeated throughout the vehicle. The contact then discovered that fuel was leaking from the fuel tank. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and the vehicle was repaired with the parts that had led to a recall. The contact then received a letter in the mail that his vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V635000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred him to his local dealer. The contact was later informed by the dealer that he had to pay for his vehicle to be shipped off his island and onto the mainland where the dealer was located. The manufacturer had not reimbursed him for the repair made prior to the recall. The vehicle was not yet repaired under the recall. The failure mileage was 100,914.

The dealer was notified about the issue and stated that parts would not be available until December 2022. The manufacturer had been notified of the issue. The contact stated that as she arrived at her destination, she noticed a trail of gasoline. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and had not been driven since. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V635000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and scheduled an appointment with the dealer; however, the dealer informed the contact that the parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that she contacted the dealer again to follow up on the recall repair, but the dealer informed her that there was no recall on the VIN. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 226,000. VIN tool showed no open recall.
2010 Land Rover LR4 suddenly, without any warning, stopped running on a highway - the car actually ran out of gas but the gauge showed half a tank!! upon investigation - the dealer admitted all 2010 LR4 and sport range rovers are having the problem - they do not know how to fix it!!
