The contact owns a 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that upon standing next to the vehicle in the driveway, he smelled an abnormally strong gasoline odor. The contact stated that he could also smell the gasoline odor inside the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V635000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and the vehicle was towed to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not complete the recall repair as they did not have the fuel tank retainer plates. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

2010 range rover hse sport failure: Fuel gauge shows warnings that gas level is near empty even if the tank is full, inaccurate gas levels shown as varying levels occurs: Every time the car is running, especially upon ignition corrections/repairs: According to dealer this is an issue with all 2010 range rover hse sports, which involves replacing the sensors in the front, as well as replacing the entire gas tank (with another sensor located internally) in the rear of the vehicle, estimated time for repairs is 3-6 weeks because this is such a prevalent issue the replacement parts are on a 1-2 week backorder.
