The interior dashboard becomes sticky and has formed spots of smooth areas that dangerously reflect sunlight into the driver's eyes. The dashboard has started to pit and crack leaving pieces of melted dash on the interior of the car. The door panels seem to be made of the same material as the dash, as they too are pitting and cracking.

Takata recall plus the interior dash and interior side door panels are deteriorating. The front dash has an oily slick residue which glares into the front windshield making it dangerous to operate. The dealership stated that I am on the list as #139 and they've replaced 20 to date. This has been a known problem for years. At this rate and if history repeats itself neither will be remedied in my lifetime.

Approximately 2 years ago my entire dash board and side panels started to melt. I have contacted Lexus and they continue to say they are waiting on the manufacturer for parts. I live in marrero Louisiana with extremely high humidity and temperatures. This has been a safety hazard. When the sun hits my windshield, the glare from hitting the melted dash completely blinds me. I have to lean to the right side just to see out of my windshield. It is melted to the point of it being untouchable without getting sticky glue on your hands. Anything that rubs against the side door panels creates grooves and marks because it's like clay. Now theres a recall with the takata inflators in the front passenger airbag which really concerns me because its affected by high temperatures and humidity causes degrading of the part. Since my dash board is completely melted to the consistency of hot glue, I can't imagine that helps with my airbag situation either. I have been contacting Lexus for the past 2 years with no luck. If I should have an accident due to the dash glare, I will expect to have the production company held accountable. Any help you can offer with getting this message across to anyone at this point would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

7/11/16 seminole, Florida the dashboard over the instrument panel and the front and rear side door panels are melting, cracking and deteriorating which causes dents in the material to the touch. All of the material is discolored and sticky or melting. Sticky stuff gets on my clothes. Lexus is a luxury car and this is not normal. This needs to be replaced immediately and a recall needs to be dictated by the nhts asap. This is unacceptable and this is why the NHTSA needs to demand Lexus initiates a official recall for the affected vehicles with the melting dashboard and side door panel issues.

All of the material is discolored and sticky or melting. This needs to be replaced immediately and a recall needs to be dictated by the NHTSA asap. Lexus notified me of the problem almost a year ago, and when I called they told me it would take another 9 to 10 months before they could replace the dashboard and side door panels. So, it would be over a 1 or more years since the original Lexus notice that they maybe can fix the problem. This is unacceptable and this is why the NHTSA needs to demand Lexus initiates a official recall for the affected vehicles with the melting dashboard and side door panel issues

Dashboard has melted with a liquid appearance. When the sun Is high in the sky, a reflection causes a severe glare on the windshield. Often it Is necessary to move my head over around the glare to see whats directly in front. The dealer so far has just stated we should get the dash replaced at our expense, but this does not seem like something that should have to be replaced on a luxury car after only 5 or 6 years. We may be forced to do this to keep the car safe. We have heard there are some class action lawsuits starting in some states. We may be interested in participating in one of these to get the dash replaced.

My dash board became sticky and I was unable to Fiat my windshield program. I contacted Lexus and they said the neighborhood of a recall. I looked on the internet and there was plenty of recalls. They replaced my dashboard for me but charge me approximately $500 to do that. They said the car was out of warranty it was a good-faith response. I found the article on abc news in tampa June 14, 2014 the reporter indicated that there's been several problems with Lexus Nissan cars that have had this sticky dashboard. I know Lexus new about it because was all over the internet. They refused to acknowledge it. But I had to pay out-of-pocket and order to be able to drive my car to work. I think this Is terrible. They knew about the dashboards. I also have stickiness on the left panel of my car starting to begin. I'm afraid to take that in also my coffee million dollars to get that fixed. It's so sad they knew of this problem.

I purchased a brand new 2007 Lexus Is 250 from park place Lexus in grapevine, tx. About two years ago, the dashboard panel started to get very soft and gummy during hot days. Small pieces of the dashboard panel came off easily. Ever since, the dashboard panel has been getting sticky and melting. The melting dashboard panel causes a glare reflection on the windshield that prevents the driver from being able to see road clearly while driving. It's a dangerous situation. Lexus has refused to replace the defective dashboard panel even though they're fully aware of the issue.
