The dashboard melting when the vehicle was in motion and stationary. Melting dashboard creates a glare in the windshield and makes it impossible to see when driving during the day. Additionally, toxic fumes from melting dashboard make it difficult to breathe when driving.

Over time, the rearview mirror has darkened with black spots and lines making it difficult to see during the day. Lexus Is aware of the problem, but will not replace the mirror without a recall. The defect can be seen on rearview mirrors for sale on ebay. I was advised by Lexus service that if it doesn't pass safety check inspection to stick on a temporary mirror. They know there Is a problem and it Is a safety issue. There must be a recall before someone dies. I find myself looking longer into the mirror, taking my eyes off the road, to discern the traffic behind. I took pictures, but on ebay, if you look close, you can see the spotting and lines on the used mirrors for sale. It's not an isolated incident. Especially by the compass in the right hand side there are noticeable parallel diagonal lines. The rest of the mirror Is spotty with lines and dark.

I have recently purchased a preowned 2008 Lexus isf with the sticky dash board issue and also the door panels are decaying away. Lexus will not replace my items that are damage due to their poor mixture of the material used to make their dash and panels. Preowned purchased should be cover if the car meet the defective issue.

My dash on my car is shiny and sticky from the defected meterial it is made out of and causes glare from the windshield when driving. Door panels are also leaving sticky residue behind on my hands when I touch the door panel. I have complained about the melting and stickiness of my dashboard and door panels already but no resolution have taken place by the Lexus or manufacturer. I have called the service department over 9X's and very seldom I have gotten an answer or a call back. Know the dashboard is so shiny, you can't drive it due to an extreme safety hazard because of the glare not being able to see! please help to get this problem fixed. People lives are at stake when driving these cars.

Dashboard starts to get really shiny and sticky when the car is out in the sun, either driving or when parked. After temperature in the car and on the dash return to a more moderate temperature, the dashboard is no longer shiny, but it is tacky. Problem is when the dashboard is out in the sun and it gets shiny. This causes a fairly bad glare on the front windshield since the sun is reflecting off the dashboard and on to the front windshield. At times it is hard to determine what is in front of you if the dashboards glare reflects the sun in a certain way. There a few occasions when the dashboard glare was so severe, you could only see out of 2/3 of the front windshield when driving. Door panels also exhibit the same behavior and can cause issues when trying to change lanes since the reelection off the top of the door panel makes it hard to see the car in the lane next to you and also make its hard to see the side view mirror with out glare from the door panel reelecting in the mirror. Fortunately this has not lead to any accidents, but the car we use is our secondary car and is hardly used throughout the year.

The glare is very dangerous they need to recall these dashboards im scared everytime I get in my car this is very dangerous sometimes you cant see people crossing the street.this needs to be recalled I got tons of pictures of the glare and the sticky dash its my whole dashboard and my door panels its all melting I took it to Lexus for major concern they denied me any help.

My dashboard Is melting horribly. I have contacted Lexus on several occasions. I was told that I first needed to bring it the nearest dealership in my area to have to serviced and get an estimate. The service report stated that the dash was in fact melting and needed to be replaced. I followed up with another call to Lexus and was informed that it was out of warranty and that it could not be replaced. I indicated that issue Is by far not a warranty issue but in fact a defect in the material used to make the dashboard. The visibility on the driver side Is horrible and quite dangerous.

I purchased a 2008 Lexus IS250 as a cpo and in the 3+ years I have owned it I have been complaining to Lexus about the breakdown/melting of the dash and door panels is getting worse everyday, especially now that it is summer. The breakdown/melting of the dash is causing a glare that blocks out my view of the road, I have pictures to prove a mid sized car can be completely blocked out by the glare. Even a dealer is calling them out for poor manufacturing and to have a recall!!! www.wptv.com/money/consumer/Toyota-dealer-calls-melting-dashboards-A-defective-product-and-wants-auto-makers-to-pay-for-repairs.

I purchased a 2008 Lexus IS250 in February 2011, I have loved my car and have taken the utmost care of it, but recently on a long road trip I noticed my dash was actually melting causing a distracting glare to the point my vision of the road is blocked (pretty hazardous, if you ask me). I began researching the issue, and from what I have found this is a common problem with Lexus and Toyota. Lexus has even issued a tsib, yet doesn't tell their customers in time before their 50000mi/4 year warranty is up, so they wont be responsible for covering the cost. This seems to be a big issue in the state of fl and other states with hotter weather. I recently took my car into a Lexus of North miami (as I found online they have dealt with several customer with the same issue). They sent the request to corporate and came back and said I would have to pay for labor for the dash (around $200+) and the doors they would go 50/50 which would cost me out pocket roughly 1400 per door. For a safety hazard, I forgot unless people die does Toyota motor Corp do anything to fix defects in their cars! the melting effects all the car panels, it ruins my clothing, and unfortunately I am not a scientist but I am sure the break down in chemicals, could only be just as harmful. I really hope you can help, as this is unfair for a corporation to know their issue and not at all stand by their customers.
