This transmission has three selections. No matter which is selected, the start off shifting is erratic, rough and sometimes alarming. There is no excuse for such a terrible shifting operation. This car has the worst shifting transmission I have ever experienced - andI am in my 80s!Had I driven it more before purchasing, I would have passed on this car - otherwise it is a delight.

too much toqure between 1st and 2nd gears, down shifting

There is too much torque between 1st and 2nd gears. If accelerating in 2nd gear the transmission will violently shift down into 1st gear causing the tires to squeal and will pull the steering wheel out of your hands if you are in a turn.

The 8 speed transmission needs to be adjusted for a smoother shifting between gears like the other Lexus cars and suvs.
