CarComplaints.com Notes: Except for a minor issue with cracked motor mounts, the 2008 MAZDA3 is a fantastic vehicle with a great reputation.

If you need to replace the motor mounts, first ask your dealer if they'll cover it -- the motor mounts were dealt with in a TSB & were recalled for some model years. Otherwise buy aftermarket motor mounts -- owners report this solves the problem. If you use the same OEM parts, they may just crack again.

MAZDA3

  • Manual transmission
  • 129,000 miles

I've had several vehicles with a lot more miles than this and didn't have this issue. Considering how little I actually used the A/C, I don't think this is part the natural wear and tear on the car.

MAZDA3 2.3L

  • Manual transmission
  • 24,000 miles

It was nice enough that the air conditioner compressor blew out on the hottest day of the year. It was even nicer that it happened after owning the car for an entire 3 years 1 month and only 24,000 miles. Unfortunately this was the first of three major failures this car would experience. I understand things break ... but a blown A/C compressor at 24,000 miles, a burned clutch at 45,000, and a broken rod bearing (read also: blown engine) at 57,000?

Mazda is dead to me.
