MAZDA6 I Sport VE 2.3L 4 cyl

Well, first off engine started consuming oil and burning it. Cylinder number 1 started having buildup. I changed oil and kept putting oil in every few days. Then after about a month, the motor starting ticking and there was no fix. About 100 miles later engine spun bearing. Motor blown. Replaced engine.

Well, engine had excessive oil consumption. None on ground, so assumed burning it somewhere. Engine started knocking, and not even 100 miles later it spun main bearing. Motor blown. Replaced engine. What a nightmare. Ford owned Mazda in 2007, so I have a FMCO 2.3L 4 cylinder. Took me 6 months to finally locate motor compatible with car. And... with a price tag of $2600.00.

MAZDA6 Sport 2.3L

No goodwill from Mazda. 4900 Miles to much for the insurance company to cover it. The car went in the trash can.

MAZDA6 LX 1.6L

  • Manual transmission
  • 130,000 miles

The car was well handled and serviced. It began burning a lot of oil between services and became noisy. I had never a problem with engines before and have been driving since 1986. I would expect the engine to have lasted to around 200,000 miles as the body work is in good shape. I understand there is a problem with this model of engine and I would expect that Mazda would replace the engine irrespective of the age of the car as this is a particular Mazda Problem with this model and engine.

MAZDA6 2.3L

  • Manual transmission
  • 39,000 miles

I was on my way home from work which is about 20 mies from my house when my engine started knocking. I got it towed to the dealer MED CENTER MAZDA Which is a horribe place to take it to. Could not get any answers for 2 weeks and then they called and said my oil filter fell off. The cars oil has not been changed for over 4500 miles how could it just fall off. So now the warranty voids because they say its lack of maintenence. I Call B/S on that one.
