The contact owns a 2009 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that the check engine and check fuel cap warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that spider webs were developing in the fuel and canister vent lines. The technician advised that the webs needed to be removed, the canister valve and the canister vent lines needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in recall NHTSA campaign number: 11V134000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 97,000.
