I purchased my C230 2007 in June of this year I only put 2000 miles on it but I stared smelling gas fumes into my 3 month so I thought I may had spill a little while pumping . The smell went a way however when I filled it up it got real strong inside and out I got scared and my head was hurting real bad I rolled the window down . So I went online and notice this is a problem with this model, why haven't there been a class action suite brought against Mercedes since they refuse to recall this issue.

I am calling my extended warranty people in the on Monday and make an appointment with Mercedes I'm scared to drive her everything I get in I pray God protect me from any accidents or my car catching on fire.

STRONG RAW FUEL ODOR WAS NOTICED AFTER FILL UP ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT BOTH THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING AND THE FUEL SENDER HOUSINGS WERE CRACKED ALLOWING RAW FUEL TO LEAK OUT. THIS IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE E CLASS RECALL. THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE THE C CLASS AS WELL AS THIS CAR HAS AN IDENTICAL FAILURE MODE. I FOUND THIS ISSUE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED, AND WOULD LIKE TO SECOND THIS NOTED ISSUE. FOR MANY MONTHS HAVE NOTICED STRONG FUEL SMELL FROM LEFT REAR WHEEL WELL. MB DEALER CONFIRMS ABOVE SIMILAR DIAGNOSIS AND APPROXIMATELY 1K REPAIR COST, GAS IS LEAKING OUT AND POOLING ON TOP OF SENDER UNIT.
