2012 C250. Bought new, garage kept. 8 years old, 32k milkes. Engine rattle on start. Estimate of $4300.00+ to replace Timing Chain and tensioners. Very disappointed. There is a California Lawyer soliciting people who own this not so fine Automobile for class action lawsuit.

Bought my 2012 C250 from Mercedes dealership with only 45k miles on it. On cold start engine would make rattle noise that lasted 3-4 seconds and stop. Took it to certified Mercedes mechanic and diagnosis came back with cam shaft adjuster failure. Paid $3,950 in repairs. This is absolutely ridiculous and poor quality on the part of Mercedes Benz. Are there any class action lawsuits for this.

I bought a C250 2012 in March 2013 with 15,000 miles on it. I was told I had a 100,000 mile warranty for the cpo vehicle. I also purchased the 3 YEAR MAINTENANCE PLAN for $700. I payed off the car in full. I am a stay at home mom of 4 so I ONLY HAVE 50,000 MILES ON IT. About 6 weeks ago I noticed a rattling noise when I start it in the morning to take my son to school. I thought it was just the chilly weather since its mostly sunny in florida but had been a bit cold in the beginning of the year. After a few weeks the sound didnt go away. Mind you, I only drive to my sons pre school and back daily which is accross the street and to the grocery once a week also accross the street so it didnt seem urgent. Yesterday on March 29 I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said my warranty expired in February and it will cost around $5,500 to fix!!!! Mary at mercedes benz coconut creek florida said they have to take the engine out of the car and basically replace many components of the engine. I am totally appauled!!! Obviously with children I am not driving like fast and the furious and I JUST HAD THE MAINTENANCE DONE THERE 5000 MILES AGO!! I bought a mercedes for the reliability and now they are charging me as if the engine has blown on a 20 year old junk vehicle! Obviously this is a MANUFACTURER DEFECT as I have seen on numerous sites this common problem on the vehicle at the 50k mile mark which is mainly the cam shaft. LAWYERS TAKE NOTE!!!
