Engine cracked a piston at 68,000 miles. Car was serviced timely, I always used premium gas. I was advised to replace engine for $14,000.00.

Pre owned certified 2015 c300 with 25,000 miles has a knocking sound that is present after the car is warm. Brought it in to Viti dealership in RI and they initially said it was the piston and it was a big repair. Then after having the car for 4 days they said it was a normal noise and others on their lot did the same so not to worry. Well it's very annoying and I don't think it's normal from what I can tell online. I don't want to listen to this noise for the next 5 years, and I don't want to get soaked trading it in for something else.
