Mercedes recalled in 2018 cars with this very same problem . My GLC is 2.2d sold in Spain but Mercedes Benz Spain says that they are not aware of such very same issue that I am suffering from now (https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2018/mercedes-recalls-glc-class-pink-turn-signals.shtml)
The only solution they gave me is that I should replace the entire light component (2000 USD) and that they would finance part of it but that due to my car is out of warranty (I paid extension) they cannot take care of it.
The point is that the recall referenced above is from 2018, and I bought the car in Jan 2017, so I more than likely having the same issue but nobody called me to get it fixed.
