The contact owns a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. While driving at various speeds, the headlamps failed to illuminate without warning. The contact had to activate the high beams to see while driving at night. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V861000 (exterior lighting). The failure mileage was 265,000. Updated 06/29/16 the consumer stated the high beams only worked when holding the button/lever. Also, the brake light stayed on. Updated 06/30/16.
