problem #1

(reported on)

Mountaineer 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 63,500 miles

Wheel bearing failed and it is heat welded to axle. Replaced the right rear wheel hub / brake assembly and spindle. Because of the heat generated, I had to replace my rear brakes also. The repair was $624 but add in the brake job also, it came to almost $900. This failure was on top of the other 2 failures (see other complaints) that cost a total of over $2,250 ...... so far. Hopefully I'll get a sucker ..... I mean buyer to purchase it. Let Ford die off like the Dinosaurs when they make junk like this.
