2 months after having the passenger side exhaust manifold replaced, bolts broke on the driver's side and we were quoted another $900+ repair. When we replaced the passenger side, we asked about the possibility of the driver's side needed replacement and were told that it was fine and not to worry. Well it broke 2 months later. I have spoken to Ford employees who tell me that both sides should be replaced which would save a lot of labor cost.

Ford customer service is so not helpful, all they say is that it out to the warranty criteria. This is an issue with many Ford vehicles and everyone needs to complain.

We replaced the passenger side exhaust manifold for $985.40. The car was approaching 100,000 miles so we wanted to get it fixed. At the time of the repair, we asked about the driver's side manifold and was told that it was fine and didn't need to be replaced. Well, I will be adding a complaint because the other side broke two months later! When I ask Ford employees about this repair, they all say that this happens to almost all Mountaineers. If this is the case, Ford should be fixing it! I contacted Ford and was told that it was outside of the warranty criteria. This is not right. I was told by customer service that if there are enough complaints that Ford would look into it but to make sure that I keep my receipts.

Everyone with this problem, needs to call Ford.
