Hit a cement barrier going 60 mph at a 45 degree angle on the passenger side and only the passenger side curtain airbag deployed.

The airbag light stays flashing and does not turn off on the truck. I drove the truck with my friend and we were both in our seat belts, for an entire 1 hour ride the light kept flashing. The airbag light starts flashing as soon as I start the truck now and does not shut off unless I park the car and turn the car off. This is a serious safety issue, if the airbag does not deploy due to the faulty sensor even when seat belts are worn I am sure that is a hospital case and a lawsuit waiting to happen. Please make Nissan rectify this problem.

The first time my wife was riding in the front passenger seat at night, she noted that the "air bag off" light was illuminated. It is very difficult to see this light during the day. My wife weights 117 lbs and is 5'6" tall. She is not a small adult. We were on a trip, but we took the truck to the nearest Nissan dealer (not the dealer who sold me the truck). The dealer put a man weighing about 50 lbs more than my wife in the seat, and the "airbag off" light stayed off. When I got home from the trip, I took the truck to my original dealer. Two representatives from the dealer went on a 10 minute drive with my wife in the front passenger seat. The light stayed on for the entire test drive, meaning that the airbag would not deploy in a frontal collision. This is documented on the invoice I received from the dealer. In 2016, NHTSA required a recall (16V244000) of 3.53 million Nissan and infinity cars for exactly this problem. NHTSA notes that "the front seat passenger occupant classification system may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied." For some reason, the Frontier model was not included in the recall. I have informed Nissan Consumer Affairs. They have not offered any help. This serious safety problem may cause unnecessary injury or death if an airbag does not properly deploy with a normal adult in the passenger seat. The Frontier should be included in the recall and the problem should be corrected.
