1998 Plymouth Voyager left and right front towers are consumed by corrosion exposing the strut assemblies and severely weakening the load bearing structure causing serious risk of strut tower failure as on or both struts will penetrate into the engine compartment causing the front of the vehicle to drop to the ground. Should such failure occur while the vehicle is in motion at highways speeds, loss of vehicle control will result, causing serious injury or death.

1998 Plymouth Voyager - strut is pushing through the strut tower on the driver's side. Excessive rust. Hasn't failed yet, but failure is imminent and would be very dangerous.

I have replaced so many tires on this van I have took it to be lined up and they tell me that it cant be lined up because there is a problem underneath and I have contacted traid Dodge and they tell me that is not under warranty but I think it should be because I don't know if this van was wrecked when I purchased it. It keeps eating up the drivers side tire on the out side and then inside of the passenger side. Also the power window on the passenger side just works when it wants to. Do you have any advice for me. Thank you very much your help. ***dimsii IVOQ entry posted after 12-12-02 cut over to artemis***761109

The interior light did not come on. The drivers side window failed intermittently. The dash lights flickered. Occasionally the horn would fail. Metal fragment cut through the power steering and caused noise when steering. The door handle didn't open smoothly. The dealer replaced front struts and rear shock absorbers. Also, replaced leaking engine valve cover gasket, engine belt and tensioner..

The interior lights did not come on, the dash board lights flickered, the driver's window stopped working, and there was a crunchy noise coming from the steering column, it was determined the power steering lines leaked, the front struts and suspension were replaced, at times the horn did not work, and later the consumer received a recall notice regarding the clock spring assembly needed to be replaced. This is a courtesy copy to NHTSA (cc) the letter is addressed to daimler Chrysler. Also the valve cover gaskets were replaced.
