1st & 2nd fan speeds on climate control are inoperable, hazard/signals work intermittently, intake manifold gasket devolped a leak resulting in antifreeze leaking into my engine oil which caused a $1000 repair, as well as both front bearings went resulting in a $1000 repair as well. This is on top of the 4 windows severly scratched and loose in their tracks, radio stopped working & brakes/rotors constantly need to be replaced due to warping. I found a few recalls on 2000 Grand Am's, but unfortunately they keep telling me that my VIN# isn't one of the ones included in the recall"?"... I don't have the money to continue pouring into this "lemon"!

Window motor/piece has broken in both back windows causing the glass in the back doors to fall down. Replacements are up to $400 for a very small piece which has to be replaced. This should be recalled. Also, the blinkers don't work sometimes but if the hazard button is pushed, then they will work for a while.

I purchased a used 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE in Sept. Of 2003, in December of 2003 I started having a problem with the signal lights, they only work sometimes, at first I thought I blew a fuse, that was changed at the garage, and they stopped working again on my way home...since then I lose them about five times a week, its exactly the problem discribed in the article telling about recall number 03043, I called the Pontiac hotline with my VIN number and was told that particular recall does not pertain to my vehicle......thats funny, its doing exactly what the recall states needs fixing........cheryl ames.

I own a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT that has had a series of electrical problems. It started three weeks ago with my turn signals. After a turn or lane change and the lever returned to its neutral position, the turn signal would click for up to 10 minutes. Then a week later the driver side door power window would not work. Then the car died on me while driving on an interstate. Thank goodness there was no one behind me. Upon review, the dealorship found that a sensor leading to the fuel pump was bad. I had heard about a recall of hazard light/turn signals in Pontiac Grand Am's but after calling GM several times they insist there is not a recall and therefore will not pay any of the $2000 in repairs. Please give me any info you can.
