I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR SOME TIME AND IT DID THE CLICKING NOISE FOR A WHILE. I HAD THE PC BOARD INSIDE THE CORNER LIGHT ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE BECAUSE BRAKES OR INDICATOR LIGHT WOULDN'T WORK AND THE CLICKING STOPPED. I FOUND OUT THE LINE IN THE PC BOARD WERE BADLY CORRODED AS IF THE MATERIAL USED TO MAKE THEM WAS VERY CHEAP. THE WHOLE LINES WERE RUSTED TO DUST IN SEVERAL POINTS WITHIN 10 INCHES EACH ONE HAS FROM THE INPUT TO THE ACTUAL LIGHT SOCKET, VERY BAD MATERIALS USED.

NOW THE CLICKING IS BACK , THE BACKUP LIGHT ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE CORNER LIGHT WILL NOT LIT SO I OPENED IT UP. NO SURPRISE HERE, SAME CORRODED LINES , BUT ONLY THE BACKUP LAMP DOESN'T WORK.

I ALREADY ORDERED THE PC BOARD ($89.00) AND PLAN TO INSTALL IT TOMORROW.

IF THE CLICKING STOPS I WILL BE HAPPY 'CAUSE I CAN DO THIS MYSELF. IF IT INVOLVES REPLACING THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH I AM GOING TO BE VERY PISSED BECAUSE THE SOUND IS REALLY ANNOYING AND ONLY STOPS IF I DEPRESS THE HAZARD SWITCH HALF WAY DOWN! HOW CAN YOU DRIVE LIKE THIS!!??

I will be driving then this clicking sound, sounds like the flashers or turn signal, will start in the dash. Sometimes it only does it for a minute or two, other times it is so loud and annoying I have to crank up my music to keep from putting my fist through my dash. Have heard of a recall related to this type of issue and also that it is fairly common...

I also experienced the turn signal clicking relentlessly. It's caused by the turn signal switch in the steering wheel failing, after it was replaced the problem went away.

I talked to a parts store they recommended to change out the flasher in the fuse box fuse panel area. This is a cheap fix can range from $4 to $10, depending on the parts store you use. If you are military, show ID card and most parts stores give a 10% military discount. I do not know if this will fix the problem, it is a start.

Update from Jan 24, 2010: Bought a turn signal flasher @ Auto Zone for $93.99 plus tax. The turn signal flasher is a all in one device, turn signal switch and windshield wiper control. Was told at the car dealership it would cost $500.00 for part and $200.00 for labor. So if you can do it yourself, you can save the bucks!!

There was a recall on the issue of the non stop, clicking, signal monster. I had it repaired once and again it is back again. Is this like one of those everlasting gumdrops? I would like the issue stopped and not patched. This may the last GM car I buy. Back to the foreign cars? What is AMERICA? Do we not have PRIDE in our products?
