Reduced engine power light on and then unable to accelerate the vehicle. Going to replace the sensor but now another code comes up also relating to the smog system. Reading a lot of complaints about this problem online and many people have replaced the sensors only to have the problem continue. Really hoping that the sensor will fix it. Based on the number of issues I have read online I think GM needs to fix this.

Same problem as other person mentioned. I took it to a shop, cost $200.00 to replace throttle wire harness. Car good for less than 6 weeks now doing the same thing. Took it back to shop, they say now I need to replace the throttle. Come on, I paid $12,000 for the car 6/5/13, had nothing but problems.

For the last few months my check engine light and reduced engine power message have been coming on at random times. The check engine light has stayed on, but the reduced engine power message comes on, I turn the car off, wait about 20 seconds, and then turn the car off, sometimes the message shows right back up, but usually it goes off and then comes back on at different times. When the message comes on, the pedal feels like it is sticking, and there seems to be no power. I was told that it was the sensor in the pedal...had to get a whole new pedal to get the sensor replaced...got it from gm dealer...$90!!!! Replaced the pedal had the battery undone for an hour or so, then started the car up...no light or message..everything seemed fine for the rest of the day, then it started doing the same thing...light and message on, hesitation...pedal sticking, and it has been doing this for a few months now. The light and message come on, I pull over and turn off car, take out key wait about 20 seconds, then start back up...drive until it does it again. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all, and might go a week before doing it again, sometimes it does it 10 times before getting down the road 10 miles. It was horrible yesterday when I was on the highway...going 70 miles an hour...in construction....it had been fine for a couple of days, and then boom did it 5 times in a hour. After looking things up online about this issue...it seems pretty common. I do not understand why there was never a recall, seems as how the first TSB (technical service bulletin) regarding this issue was on June 1, 2008. GM should make a recall on this situation before someone gets seriously hurt. I will not ever buy another GM vehicle.
